Gelled Diesel Fuel...
Freezing temperatures are definitely here. Diesel fuel that is untreated for these temperatures can turn into a “Slushy” state referred to as Gelled Diesel Fuel. Winter diesel fuel is already treated at the refinery. If you bought your diesel fuel in the summer months chances are your fuel is untreated. You will need to add the treatment manually (see image).
Fuel additives prevent "Gelled" fuel when added prior to freezing temperatures. They will NOT fix the fuel once it has gelled. If your fuel has gelled you need to warm the fuel enough to become liquid again. Move the vehicle or equipment to a warmer garage or shop... out of the weather. Once the fuel has warmed up and returned to the liquid state... add the treatment (see Image).

Winter fuel treatments can be purchased at most parts houses. We sell them here at J&J Machinery. Stop by and see our selection.
