Founders Joe and June Rowland moved to Sacramento, California in the early 1970s with their three kids. At this time, Joe was working for Case Power & Equipment Corporation and after many years in the industry, decided to start his own business. In 1979, J&J Machinery, Inc. was established, focusing on the parts and repair of heavy construction equipment. Working out of a small shop, Joe repaired hundreds of different pieces of construction equipment, with June working the books and answering phone calls from their house across town.
Upon the graduation of their last child, Scott, Joe and June decided to move their operation to a smaller area with a better market for their new vision for J&J Machinery, Inc. As they began to think about retirement, Joe and June wanted to slow down. In 1989, the decision was made to step away from the construction industry and focus on selling parts and restoring vintage agricultural tractors and equipment.
As time has passed, J&J Machinery, Inc. has evolved into the full-service, compact tractor dealership that it is today. With an unwavering devotion to selling quality new and used compact tractors, attachments, and various three-point implements, J&J Machinery, Inc. continues to sell the parts and provide the experienced repair of all compact tractors, no matter the era. Scott and his wife, Linda, continue Joe and June’s legacy as the second generation to run and operate J&J Machinery, Inc.
Over the years, J&J Machinery, Inc. has sold many different tractor lines, including Rhino International, Hurlimann, Cub Cadet, Montana, Kioti, Bobcat, and the current tractor line, TYM. Each of these lines and many more continue to be maintained and repaired in-house by experienced mechanics and parts personnel.
With tractors throughout Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Utah, California, and even Sierra Leone, Africa, J&J Machinery, Inc. has created a legacy in the past forty years that is sure to last for decades to come.
